Perfect Pirates at Putney Park School

Perfect Pirates at Putney Park School

Special thanks to the kids and teachers at Putney Park School for taking part in their pirate theme fundraising day.

Annie Bowman from the school writes:

On Friday 2 May 2008 Putney Park School teachers and pupils dressed as Pirates to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation.

The day was planned in memory of one of their former pupils, Hannah King, who died suddenly in December 2007 from meningitis. All through her life, Hannah loved anything to do with pirates and they wanted it to be a fitting tribute to her memory. Pupils were asked to bring in £2 each on the day. In addition they also had a Treasure Hunt. The total raised was £565.”

Hannah joined Putney Park School in 1995 aged four. She spent three blissful years learning reading, writing and arithmetic. But, none of this was important to Hannah - she loved going to school because she adored her teachers, her friends and the unique sense of fun that surrounded her at Putney Park
